Erin PriceAge: 27 Hometown: Cranbury, NJ Despite shouldering the workload as a full-time Master's of Public Administration student at New York University's Wagner School of Public Service, Erin Price never hesitated to lend a significant helping hand when we reached out her. Serving as a leader on our Events and Marketing team, Erin helped coordinate and direct a terrific evening for our Sept. 27 concert event. Not one to rest on her laur els, she's definitely forging ahead on our future projects. Erin met nycTIES president Alex Price this summer and -- to our great benefit -- decided to join the group at his encouragement. "I really identified with their mission because I once started a young professionals group at a previous non-profit but it never had the intentions of nycTIES," she said. "It is so important to not just have social events but to get people involved with volunteering and other things which allow young New Yorkers to see how much we need to give back to our city." Brad Hunter For July/August meet Brad Hunter. He’s only been involved with TIES for just about a year, but that doesn’t mean that his presence hasn’t been felt immensely. Check out Brad’s vital stats below and made sure to give him a pat on the back next time you see him!
- Occupation
- Marketing Coordinator at Forbes Media
- How long have you been living in NYC?
- I've been living in New York for year and 4 months. (16 months)
- How did you get involved with TIES?
- I got involved with nycTIES through my roommate and close friend Blake Berson (video extraordinaire)
- How long have you been involved?
- I have been involved for a little over a year, but got introduced to nycTIES back in the summer of 2007, while interning in NY over the summer
- Why did you get involved?
- I got involved because I saw the great philanthropic work that a group of young professionals can do for an array of worthy charities. The close knit bond that nycTIES builds with each individual charity it works with is truly special and allows for a hands on and personalized experience.
- What do you do for the organization? (What is your role?)
- I am co-charity leader for Career Gear along with the always amazing and effervescent Elise King.
-
- I also am a mentor for a great 12 year. Old stud named Kevin through NAC
- What makes TIES special for you?
-
- The people are what keeps me engaged with nycTIES. The people that I have met and the friendships I have gained through my involvement are what make TIES a truly special organization. The work that charities (specifically NAC and CG) are doing is inspirational and it's really been an honor to help out with a small part of the work that these dedicated charity partners provide to their clients.
- What are you doing and where can we find you when you're not busy doing stuff for TIES or working? (I.e. what do you do for fun?)
- When not with TIES or at work you can find me out with friends in the city, watching a moving picture or sleeping.

- How long have you been involved?
I have been involved for a little over a year as a volunteer, but took on organizational responsibilities in the past 6 months.
- Why did you get involved?
I saw a great match of multiple personal goals - the opportunity to balance a busy schedule with a range of different and impactful volunteer events, networking with a diverse group of NY professionals, professional volunteering and solid career development, and having a ton of fun.
- What do you do for the organization? (What is your role?)
I lead the Marketing arm of nycTIES and work with a rockstar team: Khoung, Shannon, Brady, Kai, Leon, Lindsay, Blake and Tori! We manage the Branding, Video/Content Development, Newsletter, Website, PR, Print/Collateral, Event Marketing, and Social Media Marketing programs.
- What makes TIES special for you?
- Impactful Volunteering at various levels of commitment: I saw this organization as really going full circle in making an impact with local NYC charities that need the help the most, where our efforts help make sustainable differences through personal and professional volunteering and fundraising.
- Networking with awesome professionals: Not only did I see the chance to connect with professionals for a eclectic mix of industries and disciples but I saw the some genuinely kind-hearted people and that's tough to come by, especially in NY.
- Professional/personal development: nycTIES is an open organization that provides a very hands on approach to management so if you’re interested in contributing to or even piloting a program, their all for it.

- How long have you been living in NYC?
I've been living in NYC for 2 years.
- How did you get involved with TIES?
I got involved with nycTIES through the distant recommendation of a friend of a friend
- How long have you been involved?
I got involved with nycTIES through my roommate Fred Le Cao. I went to the new member meeting and a few Happy Hours. I met alot of great, enthusiastic people and was hooked..
- Why did you get involved?
I believe that nycTIES offers the outlet so many young professionals are looking for. It offers the opportunity to give back to the New York community while allowing members to develop leadership skills through experiences we may not have access to at work.
- What do you do for the organization? (What is your role?)
I currently serve as the Co- Charity Relationship Manager with Kristine Harclerode for Harlem RBI. We coordinate volunteer activity with Harlem RBI and also seek to find ways we can use our resources to assist the charity in general.
- What makes TIES special for you?
nycTIES is a unique collection of people who passionately believe in the cause of the organization: to use our resources and talent to improve ourselves and the community in which we live. I believe that , with our collective skill and ability, there is no task that we cannot accomplish to better our city and help those in need. This, and the "can do" attitude of our members, will lead, I believe, to nycTIES becoming an important part of the New York philanthropic and charitable community.
- What are you doing and where can we find you when you're not busy doing stuff for TIES or working? (I.e. what do you do for fun?)
When I'm not doing stuff for 'Ties, at work, or studying for the CFA exam, you can find me practicing guitar, trying to improve my (sub par) golf game, relaxing in the park, or just generally kicking around the City.
